Hopefully his pain will be better managed at the vets and he'll be fit for his op tomorrow, sending very best wishes.

As far as I know the op is still going ahead. More of a precaution to make sure he doesn't get dehydrated I think. He has been in some pain since the biopsy. Thank you for all the healing thoughts. Will update tomorrow with hopefully good news. Come on Nat.

Everything crossed for Nat on Monday Having met the amazing Dickie, charming the crowds at a fundraiser last year , I too would probably have hope. Such a terrible time, my thoughts are with your sister and my prayers will be with Nat on Monday Maryxx

We are just coming up to the one year anniversary since Dickie's leg was amputated and along with reading about Nat so many thoughts are coming back from that time The two lowest points for Dickie that I remember were the days after the biopsy and the night before his surgery. These are the times he was in the most pain Hopefully Nat will have a comfortable night at the vets I'll have Nat, your sister and you too in my thoughts tomorrow and praying the op goes well

Thinking of all those who love Nat and hoping that he does really well as so many of the dogs on here have done.

Nat is doing well. The vet is happy with how things have gone. He is comfortable and pain free and going to be kept in over night. I'm so glad he is over the first hurdle. Thank you once again for all the kind thoughts.

So glad the operation has gone well for Nat. I don't know if you or your sister are members of Facebook, if you are there is a great page called Tripawds www.facebook.com/groups/tripawdsuk/?fref=ts You will find people in the same position and will get lots of support especially while you go through the first week or so when things can be quite daunting and your sister will worry whether she has done the right thing. Another good investment would be a ruffwear harness which quite a few people on Gap use but can be particularly useful for a wobbly dog especially while he's getting used to be 3 legged. Do a google search for ruffwear harnesses as prices do vary but they are not cheap, they will however last a very long time.

So pleased to hear the op went well Before Dickie came home we stocked up on high grade Manuka honey to help with the healing, arnica to help with the swelling and duvets & covers to provide a soft landing place Oh and also a syringe so that we could get regular amounts of water down him to keep him hydrated and lots of random favourite foods to get the tablets down Sending loads of good wishes to Nat The first week he is home will be hard on your sister, I hope she manages a good nights' sleep tonight - we're all here for her and Nat

Thanks for the advice. My sisters husband is an amputee and at present in a wheelchair. Her health hasn't been the best either so I know she will find things very hard for a while. They also have Cerys a disability dog as well. She will do all she can for Nat and the support that we get from all the lovely people on here is very appreciated. I am sure when she gets a chance she will become a member. We are both facebook members so will take a look at the site mentioned. The vet mentioned a harness so will have a look at the ruffwear one.
Will update tomorrow. X

Nothing to add in the way of advice except the dog will surprise you how well he copes. They just get on with it the first week can be tough I know it was here the best advice is for your sister to sleep now because once the dog comes home there may be a few nights of sleep deprivation. Glad its so far so good.
