I have spoken to the chip company again today that we now register with... Basically its down to the owners to change the details if they wish not the rescue. We are trying to handle it as a duty of care to arrange duel registration which is better for the dogs. Thanks Lisa. Dual registration is certainly preferable. I've e-mailed for Reggie and if there is any charge I'll be happy to pay.

Maddie is chipped to the rescue she came from simply because she was a foster and it never got changed. The address on it is someone who is no longer involved with the rescue so it has to change. I rang up to alter it and was told I couldn't, as the chip isn't in my name I don't have the proper registration document either only the copy that is sent off to the company to register the chip. The rescue have to do it which they are and registering her to me. It seems rather a mess tbh, typical badly thought out law yet again.
Cath, I haven't got a copy of the adoption for Sapphy or Bod either but I have from the rescue Gracie and Maddie came from.

Lisa - what a difference a word makes. We thought you owned our hounds (like other rescues) and if anything horrible happened they came back to you - brilliant security net.And you always said if a bonded non- Gap dog was involed the same - which was brilliant for Kiz.But now, having looked at Sam's link it's worrying. Not getting at you cos I know how busy you are - but I've always kept the dog papers together. But I can't find the confirmation of adoption for Perry or Jem,so where does that leave us?They are chipped to you(fine) but living here and no proof - never worried before, but can't do anything about dual registration.Cath Nothing changes on that score. You need to make sure ALL Gap dogs have a collar tag on with your name and details and on the flipside Greyhound Gap microchipped 07917422489. IF the dog goes missing you ring us asap within seconds with the microchip number for now we can still trigger it. We ask ALL adopters to make sure immediate family know to call us should god forbid anything happen to them. We ask that it is written down and clearly displayed in the house ie on the fridge! Incase of emergency relating to the dogs ring Greyhound Gap 07917422489 and as bad as it is put it in your will that the dogs have somewhere to go and instruct your solicitor when making your will as an emergency! Vicky you cant at the moment but after April YOU will be able to change it yourself x

Thanks Lisa.Collar tags have our details and Gaps contact numbers on the reverse. After another rummage through the dog papers, found a vet receipt for Jem - and on the back were Perry and Jem's chip numbers,so Chris must have asked the vet for them. And No.1 son knows that Gap owns the hounds and you have to be notified asap if anything happens to us.All that remains is that e-mail for possible dual registration. So I'm a lot happier bunny. Thanks again Lisa - Cath.

Chip numbers came on a sticker in Bods and Sapphys vacc certs - very efficient and the best place for them so I don't loose them.

As Vicky says the chip numbers should be inside the vaccination cards. Also keep them on a card inside your purse and Chris wallet so they are with you at all times Sent from my SM-G900F using proboards

Ringo will stay with gap, don't really care about the theoretical fine as Lisa has said there are 28 days to update
