Flo will only poo in the house, I think it's a confidence thing, maybe one of the other dogs knocked her when she was balancing etc. but it becoming quite extreme. For instance, Flo will go for a long walk and come home and run off and poo upstairs. Last night she woke me up for a wee at about 4, she then came in and ran back upstairs to bed and pooped on the landing before I could get up there. I try to follow her when she seems to dart off, but obviosly I can't do this all day. Any suggestions, I've tried going back to basics out on the hour etc but it's not making any difference. I 've tried putting her out on her own, no difference. Now known as Filthy Flo

Laura has it started more since its got colder and the weather has turned? Lottie again saluki x whippet is exactly the same at this time of year and if I dont watch her like a hawk will aim to poo in the kitchen! She is happy to go outside for a wee because she can do it right by the back door or hanging her backside off the back door step but again wont hang around on walks to toilet. I have to really shove her out and shut the door on her and wait till I see her go and usually then have to jumper and rug her up! Again with Tuppence its the mad saluki precious genes I would imagine try putting a coat on her. I am at the stage where I leave Lottie a jumper on all the time

I have to get to a stage where I feel like the baddest bitch alive and leave Lottie out on her own for 10 minutes in all manner of weather! Still isnt guaranteed she will go. Keep an eye out for Flos picky eating getting worse aswell! At this time of year Lottie point blank refuses to eat without a row because eating means getting off a warm sofa and a trip to the garden after! ;D

Just a thought - maybe a weak one in view of having to stand around in cold, damp weather but ..... clicking and high value treating squatting behaviour or toileting - to condition the poo, so to speak ;D Also I take out a large golf umbrella for me and hound - not sure it helps that much but at least I feel better believing it does ;D Jo

Been lucky never to have any problems with mine. They never go out into our large garden alone though as I always walk round with them whatever the weather or they'd be out of sight and I wouldn't know what they had done. They always still get a treat when they do what I know they are due to do, wee, poo or both. All mine soon learn what they need to produce to get a bit of cocktail sausage. ;D

I usually go out in the garden with mine - always did for first 6 months - and if weather bad put a coat on dog as well as me. She's got toileting sorted now but it took a while.
HOWEVER - we are getting a sister for Gizzi on Saturday - finished racing only 3 weeks ago - so I'll no doubt be standing out there for ages again - just as the worst weather arrives!!!
I know Gap don't like 2 girls together, but we have high hopes for these 2.

More important than the sex of the hounds is their personalities and that they don't clash with each other.
