There's a gang working the Notts/ S. Derbyshire area.........a dark blue Ford (poss an Escort or Mondeo) has been seen at several SoCs. We believe that the gang *may* come from Newark.......but no leads so far I've stuck your girl on our register: LSOB 1830/5/G: Jack Russell Terrier - bitch (neutered) Rough coated White with tan Tan spots on ears Long legged Microchipped Age: 1 yr Stolen from: Carlton, Notts. on 11/5/04 Circumstance of loss: Stolen out of garden. Collar was taken off and left behind Picture available

thanks ive just been on pet rescue site and two lurchers have been stolen from west leak in nottingham by two men in a dark ford mondeo or escort. looks like there could be a connection here. You say the police are aware are they aware enough that the local papers may act now do you think?

Yep, that's this one: LSD 1826/6/G:Lurcher - Whippet x Greyhound -dog (entire) Smooth coated Fawn White bib and throat Just behind right front leg and at the end of his ribs are 2 scars like 20p's. Front feet turn out slightly. Monorchid (only 1 testicle) Height: 24.5-25 ins Age: 2 yrs Stolen from: West Leek, Notts. on 3/6/04 Circumstance of loss: Thieves took this dog and his litter brother out of their kennel run, using baling twine as leads....but this dog squealed (doesn't like strangers), alerting the owners. The owner ran out after them, the other dog got loose and this one was shoved into a dark blue Ford Mondeo or Escort. The owner gave chase in his car, but couldn't catch them. Additional Info: A car of this description has been spotted in the area at dog thefts before. Police are aware. This dog has been specifically targeted...........he's been winning a lot of races etc at shows recently and that's the only time he's been seen in public........someone's followed them home and watched the routine to suss out when's the best time to nick him If the police do ANYTHING I'll eat my hat! They will not go onto Travellers' sites .......they don't come out to stolen dog reports (unless someone's been injured or it's a proper burglary)...........the official stance is that it's only a dog and not worth the trouble with paperwork Half the time if you report it as a stolen dog and they do actually record it, the details aren't passed on to other officers or stations. We have numerous instances of people reporting a dog stolen one day and someone reporting the same dog as found a day or so later, but no-one connects the two Like the 2 greyhounds from Bicester.........the finder reported them found to a police station about 2 miles away from the one they'd been reported stolen to.........lack of communication

Don't know. Perhaps they just found her and wanted to keep her and then thought better of it - though why people don't think there might be a loving owner out there going frantic, doG only knows. So were the finders anything to do with her theft?
