My 6 year old black greyhound Lily has quite baldy thighs (with freckles too!). Over the summer she seems a bit balder. Has anyone tried this remedy of giving porridge oats to their dogs? Any risks, digestion wise in giving them oats? Here's an extract from an interesting Greyhound Rescue site based in Italy.. info. all in English Add 1-2 tablespoons (15ml-30ml) of (preferably organic) uncooked porridge oats (slightly moistened with warm water) to breakfast every morning. The high vit B content and the niacin and thiamin in the oats promote fur growth, but it is essential to stick with it day in day out as it takes approximately 2-3 months.

A friend of mine did this with her greyhound and it worked well. It's probably one of those things that works for some and not others. Some also go bald in the summer and grow a bit of hair in the winter.
