My partner and I have recently taken on our first greyhound. Grown up with dogs but our first of the breed. He's a beautiful brindle boy called Billy, and he's 5.
We are incredibly lucky that he came from foster care so is house trained, walks incredible on a lead and we really only have one issue when it comes to bedtime.
He is a clingy boy which we knew, but not always as he is incredibly self sufficient and calm with experience in a home with full time workers and handles it well.
Long story short we have a two story townhouse with bedrooms upstairs and all living spaces downstairs. At bedtime we want to go upstairs to bed and him to stay in his bed downstairs. We wait till he is comfortable and settled, half asleep in bed but as soon as we start walking up the stairs, he sticks to us like glue. We tried a baby gate tonight and he has knocked it down twice. We have only had him 10 days so very early I know. At the moment he loves sleeping on the landing at the top of the stairs curled up on an old doona, but its not a very big landing and his bed doesn't fit on it.

Of you can let him sleep in a dog bed in your bedroom he will be happy and all your problems will be solved! They just want to be with their family.

I second what Sue has said . Go for the easy option.

Me too! He will be far happier and more settled if he has his bed in your room.
