hello all We recently adopted a 2-year-old greyhound x wolfhound. She doesn't come from a racing background and all I know of her past is that she was with a family that had to relocate before she came to us. She is the most amazing, loving dog and super friendly when running free, but gets pretty aggressive / excited when she spots another dog while walking on a leash. We have only had her for about 2 months now, so still getting to know each other, but as a result I have been very hesitant to take her to the dog park with other dogs around, not knowing how she might react and not wanting to put other peoples dogs in possible danger. We have found a large fenced in field that she has all to herself and can get a proper sprint in, but I think she might miss running with other fur friends and don't want to deprive her of socialising with other dogs if it can be helped. We do think her "aggression" might just be excitement and wanting to go play with other dogs (we have had play dates with friends and their dogs in a controlled environment and as soon as the leash came off they were all great friends) Any advice on how we might be able to manage this behaviour would be greatly appreciated. thanks again and kind regards Marlet from South Africa.
