Slightly at the end of my tether. I’ve had Wallace for about 5 years and he’s always peed in the house. He’s now 8 and came from GG. I’ve tried sprays to eliminate smell. , always take him for a pee before he’s left etc and yet he just does it every day and it’s really getting me down. Latest attempt was stair gate (he pees at the top of the stairs) but today got home to find a ruined rug and a stained sofa. I’ve had enough and really would appreciate any ideas. Thanks.

Presume you have had him checked at the vets for any physical reason for this?

Not an easy situation for you. Children’s dry nights bed mats are large and waterproof and can save a rug or chair possibly while you wait for help. One of my hounds has diabetes insipidus where he can’t concentrate his urine and thus produces a lot. He has treatment now. Might be worth asking the vet for some tests.
