Patchy hair loss

Hi!
I adopted my guy about 7 weeks ago. His back legs are bald bug growing back. But! He is shedding an insane amount & has a couple small round patches on his back that are experiencing more hair loss. He has an appt with the vet next week just wondering if anyone has experienced this?

Sounds like he's losing his kennel coat - they have a thicker coat in kennels to keep them warm,which they shed in a warmer home environment.And yes,it can be an insane amount of shedding.Regular grooming removes it,we found a furminator brilliant,and all 3 of ours love it during their regular moult.Also we give daily evening primrose capsules,most people give oily fish once or twice a week to maintain coat condition.And greys are well known for bald back ends - took years for our oldie's to grow back.When I'd resigned myself to a bald back end,he decided to suprise us by growing it back!Sure others will be along with their tips for a healthy coat - Cath.
