Hello, I just adopted my 2 year old greyhound Millie last week, she's a lovely dog and very well behaved. The only issue is that early hours of the morning around half 4 she needs to wee, if no ones awake to let her outside she will go on the kitchen floor. Following suggestions she's praised every time she goes to the toilet outside, she has no water during the night and she's taken outside for the toilet at 11pm. I assume it's just because of her body clock and previous routine at the kennels that is causing her to wee at this time every morning. If anyone has any suggestions of how this habit could be broken it would be very appreciated.

It is very early days for you and your greyhound and it will take quite a long time for her to settle down fully. I would take a urine sample to the vet to see if she has an infection first and to be honest I think it's wrong to withhold water at night.

Is she getting too cold?

Agree with both above.
If she is cold pjs are a good solution. Could something be disturbing her at that time in the morning?
As Liz has said it is very early days and in my experience they are generally good at picking up when and where to go.
Do you use biological powder to clean up. If not give it a try - it is the best for removing scent.
Good luck and it would be lovely to see photos and know how you get on.
