My new greyhound boy Bob is two and a half, I've had him since April. He is an absolute dream other than when we meet other dogs. He's OK initially but very quickly starts to bark like mad and if he has enough slack on his lead he leaps on top of the other dog. No growling involved but he does seem as if he may be trying to bite the other dogs back. I have my daughters whippet/collie cross most days and Bob and him get on fine. they were introduced as soon as we brought Bob home. My last greyhound who sadly died in march was nothing like this. Any suggestions on how to improve/stop this?
Bill.

I am no expert, but would firstly suggest that you muzzle Bob whenever you go out to prevent any harm being done. My avatar, Jet, was very unpredictable when he first came to me, particularly with small dogs. We did a lot of Leave it! and rewards when he did. Some people use Look at me and other commands: whichever suits you best. It took a while, but eventually Jet was able to go out in public without his face furniture. He became 99% trustworthy, but to his dying day always reacted to pugs ( due to being nipped at by one soon after he came to me) and wasn't keen on entire males.I always walked him on martingale and harness and would detect the rumble before he did anythng, giving me time to shorten his lead.I also asked owners of calm dogs if we could meet and greet under very controlled conditions. It takes time and patience.Good luck and let us know how you get on
