Maybe I am going a bit daft but here goes. Ringo has been with 2 years now and whether it's because I sprung him from kennels but I am his most favorite person in the house. I recall him having some SA in his previous foster home and when he first came here on foster he took a wee while to settle. I have been off work since end of feb and won't be going back until the end of the summer and lately I've noticed that he is stuck to me like s&!t to a shovel. You can't move and he follows you to the point where it's getting annoying as I am constantly triping over/treading on him! I have starting putting both hounds out in the hall (same routine when we are at work/go out) for a couple of hours morning/afternoon as I don't want to establish behaviour that may cause problems when I go back to work. Am I over thinking it /is there anything further I need to do? He has gone from a house where there is none in for most of the day bar lunchtime to his most favorite person being around all the time and his 2 extra brain cells really don't work in his favour sometimes! Welcome any thoughts. Helen

I'd be doing the same thing as you! Definitely don't want him getting too dependant on your company creating problems when you return to work.

I agree, keep giving him time away from you. Are you able to leave the house every day even for 5 mins so they stay used to you leaving? I'm at home all the time but even if I don't need to go out I often do just so they stay used to me going, even if I just go up the road and back. I do think it's something you have to keep working on if you are suddenly around more especially with dogs that would really like you never to leave their side.
