Hi there.
We are new to Grey ownership and have a lovely girl, Autumn, with us last few days.
She is friendly, house trained and used to cats. Yay.
Just wondering about SA in the house even though we in?
I went to loo last night at 3am. It caused her to get up, pace and bark until.I came back out then settled as good as gold but woke a grumpy overtired hubby up (We moved house last week)
Also if anyone goes out of room in day she will whine. She even whined by the little ones room this am.
Thanks all x

Hi, welcome and congratulations on your new arrival. Is your girl an ex-racer?
I would suggest that you read Lisa's threads in this section beginning with this one: greyhoundgap.proboards.com/thread/29756/new-hound-home
There is also a thread on separation anxiety and early morning wakers. Lisa's advice is spot on!

Totally agree with Vanessa , follow Lisa's advice to the letter. I've done it twice and it really does work. Good luck and let us know how you get on

Thank you. I will read through and see how we get on. Am sure we can work around it. She is from Greyhound Rescue aged 3. She is tattooed in ears. She is timid of our one cat and won't come in from garden if cat in kitchen. Cat not hurt her or is even bothered by our lovely Grey xx She loves giving licks and kisses and her new Panda

Probably it's just early days for her yet with everything so new. Just relax and don't push her and she'll probably settle and come round quite quickly. Our latest very nervous foster girl hardly comes out of the bedroom still and she's been here a month now!

She'll probably come round in her own good time when she feels settled and secure. Most do but some seem to prefer their own company. My friend's bitch has been with them four years now and won't stay in the same room with her owners (who are lovely, kind and used to be quite upset by this). She won't even take treats from their hands though she will from other people she knows and she loves her food and walks and is perfectly healthy. Just the way she is I guess and they've given up trying to get her to be more sociable and just love her as she is. She has stayed with us several times and is just the same here.
