Hi, Sams got a very delicate tum and the only food he can tolerate without getting terrible colitis is white fish and potato kibble. But he now won't eat it. St first I thought he wasn't well but I'm cooling Wight fish and pots and he wolfs it down and when I offer him a tiny bit of Ceecees Burns kibble he scoffs that too, along with treats etc....so I guess he's not ill?!?
Can anyone suggest a food that really is ok for a very sensitive tum please?
Does anyone know if the Burns Pork and Pot is any good for a sensitive tum? I know it claims to be but I'm not sure xxx

Sorry, no real advice to give, but could you try adding a small amount of fish to his current food to tempt him to eat? Fern became fussy as she got older, so we used to add small amounts of tasty things mixed into her dry food which encouraged her to eat. Once she started to eat her food, she'd wolf it down, it was just getting her started that could be a challenge. X

Sorry no advice as I have found all four of my Hounds will not eat a Kibble of any sorts as their main meals. Arden Grange have a sensitive kibble which may help. I sometimes find that you have change a Hound's diet as they get fed up with the taste of the same one all the time. I have even had this with Naturediet and ForthGlade, so I interchange one for the other when they start leaving some of their food. Berriewood are a good supplier of kibbles and wet foods. They were doing a special offer on Barking Heads Kibble recently not sure if the offer is still on.

Sapphy had a terrible tummy and could only eat fish ones. After fish4dogs reformulated she couldn't tolerate it so I rang Angell Pet co and they sent me a big sample and she was fine on it - salmon and potato. She had the small bite which is quite small but the large is very big. Is Salmon no good? Have you tried the Wafcol white fish and potato? I know it suits some dogs.
Maddie is very picky but luckily not as difficult to find a food that suits so I tend to keep 2 foods that suit her and she has one for breakfast and another for tea! No one could tolerate any Pork based foods. Maddie can't have foods with maize and I've given up on kibble for Gracie, she has forthglade or similar trays with sweet potato and butternut squash which I've just started to cook in the slow cooker, much easier. Good luck!

I thought Sapphy wouldn't tolerate salmon but it must have been something else as she was perfect on Angell.

We have moved to wainwright's salmon and potato, firm poo and they like it that much we don't have to add anything in whereas before they wouldn't touch it without anything added.

Use Burns Pork & Potato for mine as she has a v. sensitive tum. Tried all sorts, but other greyhound owners recommended this and it really worked for me. She did lose too much weight on the recommended amount so I add a bit of mixer meal (Burns or Natures Menu) or boiled potato. I also use a small pouch of something which I divide into 6 portions (3 meals a day for 2 dogs) which jazzes it up a bit. Deffo suggest you try the Pork & Potato if you can't stand the whiff of the fishy ones.
Hope that helps.

We switched Astra on to Burgess sensative salmon and rice adult - from Wafcol over a year ago - everything firmed up and it really suits her and she did have such a terrible tum before!! There is another interesting one out there which I was considering called Millies Wolfheart quite a bit more expensive but a few people I know ( but with lurchers and whippets) swear by it as you can get the right mix depending on how active (or not!!) your dog is. www.millieswolfheart.co.uk/

Have you thought about switching to raw Alex? Never thought I would but I cannot recommend it enough! Our neighbours retriever had colitis and was under the vet on meds but since she switched he hasn't had a problem since. All ours are raw fed now, best thing we ever did. Its made a massive difference to Roy's life. Delta is now on the low purine nutriment food after she had pancreatitis, she loves it and looks so much better.
