My grey (4) gets very excited - usually at walk time - and barks and play nips. Whats the best way to deal withthe barking and playnips. Once her lead is on she's fine!
She also barks and play nips my elder greyhound when she wants to play - I imagine this is usual dog play. My elder grey isn't keen on it though, her fur goes up on her back. Should I leave them to it to sort out their rank? My elder grey has growled and nipped her when she gets too much for her.
She's like an over exciteable, overgrown clutsy puppy whereas my elder grey is such a gentle lady!

Mine are both so docile - no barking or nipping - so get the lead on quickly so she doesn't have time to get too exuberant. You could slightly vary the routine - lead on first - then get your keys, coat etc. Or let her out in the garden while you get ready to go out, then let her in with the lead ready to go on.
