Lance the numpty strikes again. He has punctured and thus consumed some of the gel from inside a blue gel freezer pack and some of the foam from inside one of those wine cooler things. I have spoken to the vet, but she didn't really seem to know whether the contents are toxic to dogs. A brief google had the top story as 'my dog ate gel pack and died. Has anyone else experienced this? The bloody daft dog has already had an emetic today from eating some skin off a galia melon in huge chunks!

No but contact the manufacturer - isn't there a Poisons Unit in London or somewhere? I'm sure if people have taken poison their doctors can call this Unit and get info of what's in the product that's been swallowed With some poisons you mustn't make them sick cos they do much more damage when the poison comes back up their throat Hope he's OK- vet check and blood tests would be good as not all poisons act immediately and will affect his liver and kidneys then it's too late when you see symptoms for instance some low fat yoghurts have Aspartame which has caused fatal liver damage in some dogs cos the damage is cumulative. Most hound owners are very tidy LOL
