Any one have advice the lovely foster dog Laurie has decided she likes to dig holes in the garden, I'm far from precious about my lawn, when you've got three dogs who charge around you can't be, but id rather they didn't dig. I think she's learnt it from Erin as she does dig holes to hide toys and did have one hole where I think she was digging to Australia but we've solved that. But now Laurie has started and it's not somewhere Erin has dug before either to hide stuff or for fun. Laurie does it with such happiness but it's got to the point where I can't take my eyes off her in the garden. So how do I stop her

Make her a sandbox so you have an approved place to direct her digging activities to, maybe?

Gawd knows Gilli - I always said that our 1st grey and lurcher did it cos they out with their Dad gardening and decided to help.Their Oz excavations were quite impressive. Then Chris decided to tidy the neglected top of the garden - and found the Great Escape tunnels. That was really scary - can't believe how far and how quickly they did it,or how they didn't collapse.Cath

No advice here sorry, but my two have bouts of it, and funny enough it seems to be tree roots they are having a go at, I can't believe, that after having no lawn on one side of the garden after Moss destroyed it during the winter and after spending a fortune on grass seed it looks the best it has ever done, hope you find a solution.

Ive put a massive part of a tree in the hole and she was playing bowing and barking at the branch. She's such a happy girl when she relaxes

Ragsysmum's sandbox idea is good! You can half bury some toys, bones, plastic bottles, etc in it. Then if she starts digging anywhere else, race with her to the sandbox and start digging yourself.
