Hi All
First time poster here.
We are going away for weekend soon and are looking for someone , South London (or West London as work out that way) who can look after our guy.
He is an ex racer dog, who we have had for 6 months. I do not want to put him in kennels as I feel that would just be unfair on him, as he is just starting to enjoy himself. I would like to have him in home boarding, but not somewhere where there are a ton of other dogs. We have seen some places, but they can have up to 6 dogs at a time, and I don't feel that would be fair on him...he is still getting used to other dogs.
If anyone has any recommendations for a boarder who will give him his walks daily and let him crash out in the house, that would be much appreciated. Some experiences with Greyhounds would be advantageous.
Thanks in advance.

Hersham Hounds Kennels also known as Wimbledon Greyhound Rescue do board ex racing Greyhounds alongside their rescue kennels. Have a look at their web site. They are very experienced with ex-racing Greyhounds as they take them direct from Trainers at Wimbledon Greyhound Track.
You may be able to find Dog Walkers who also do Home boarding and some will even stay at your home so that your Greyhound stays at his home. I am lucky in Swansea as my Board walkers also do this if I require it. But normally I arrange holidays where I can take my four Hounds (3 Greyhounds and 1 ex-Spanish Hunters Hound) with me. As my eldest Greyhound (11) would pine if placed in kennels and if he is away from me. .

When we lived in South London a lovely woman from our local pet shop used to house sit for us (we have four greyhounds). I don't know if she is still there(it is six years since we moved) but if you were interested I could try calling the shop and speaking to her to see if she would be happy for me to pass on her telephone number.
Good luck
Mary
