My 2 hounds have decided that they don't want breakfast, no amount of tempting will persuade them to eat it. Fed up with having to throw food away, is it ok to just feed them 1 meal a day? ? Sandra

Are you able to feed them at lunchtime? or if not a small meal before bed as long as it doesn't make then need to get up in the night? Our bridge boy Zeus would only ever eat at 2am we tried all sorts but in the end just put his food down before we went to bed and would hear the chink of his bowl at 2 am. We only had him at the time so he had no competition. We could give him a bonio as we went out and he wouldn't touch it until we got home. Strange but lovely boy!

Mickey sometimes does this until after our first walk of the day. I cover his food dish and give it to him later. It sounds as if either your Hounds have had enough to eat or could be saying please change our food we are fed up with this food. I have found that mine get fed up with Naturediet so at the moment I am feeding them Gelert Country Choice which is lumps of meat in a Jelly, and they are all enjoying a 400 gram tin each for breakfast and a 400 gram tin in the evening. Sometimes I find to get them to finish off their meal I have to hold their dish and they all (4 Hounds) enjoy this from me.

Moss my lurcher is a grazer, eats a bit wanders off and comes back a few minutes later, Skye the old staffie eats it in one go so we have to feed them separately, I also have to sometimes hold the dish for Moss to stop him messing about too much, hope you get something sorted.

Thank you for your replies and advise. Today I fed them later ( 11.30 ) and they both ate their food, so we'll see how we get on doing this.
