The sort of rescue that makes my blood absolutely boil. Seriously distressed babies with no knowledge of the world for non other than selfish reasons. These babies have actually been handed into the pound by a HOME.
We would URGENTLY like to source foster homes for these kids!
Right lets not rest on our laurels with these two the first 11 months of their life has been wasted and caused damage. Lets please try and rectify it asap whilst they are still young enough to learn. Most will be aware if following the forum that yesterday we were called down to the pound to two owner relinquishment *weinermarers* It is clear to see that they are not. However what these photos do not show is that I would hasten a guess and others agreed that they may be Weines x whippets. The owner obviously bred them and weinemarer is such an odd thing to say if you do not know its in there. I would hasten a guess they are the back end of an unsold litter. I would also hasten a guess that they have probably lived in a kitchen, not been out and had no experience of the world. They are currently terrified Tess the little black girl moseso than Nero. He likes people and warms up quickly and Tess takes his lead. They have never been housetrained, never been introduced it seems to cats, kids, leads, cars the world in general. I can already see that they *want* to trust and want to warm up to people. What I can also see is that sadly they need splitting up, they would love to go out as a pair I have no doubt but will continue to hold each other back, teaching two about the world, homes and housetraining would be much harder work. Therefore these little ones really need foster homes where they can go their own ways, leave each other and co exist with other steady dogs willing to teach them and allow them to observe. Kennels is not the right place for them to be bought on. They will be vaccinated, wormed, de flead, and microchipped asap BUT and its a big but I feel that neutering right at this point in time is possibly not the best move and I would like to see them have a few weeks in foster if possible to move forwards with life and then the neutering will be undertaken in foster with all costs of course paid by Gap. If you fit the following criteria and would be interested in offering one of these beautiful babies a safe haven in the interim please let us know.... Pre vetted foster homes would be EXCELLENT but if you are not pre vetted we are happy to get you visited...... You have other steady dogs that are well settled, you have children 4 years and upwards for Nero, 8 years and upwards for Tess, you are at home all or most of the day and you are not afraid to offer firm boundaries but with a huge heap of love thrown in. These little ones deserve a shot at life and they deserve one quickly. They are very gentle dogs, Nero is a total beauty, Tess a little more reserved and the only reason I say slightly older children is when cornered at first yesterday she was turning her head a little this was whilst trapped on lead though and stopped the second that the lead was taken off. I feel BOTH could learn to co exist with fiesty cats and both are dog friendly. If you can help please help... These babies really really really do deserve some consitancy and life experience.
Nero is fairing much better than Tess and we feel that he will come around quickly in a foster home with a steady dog or dogs to show him the way forward
Tess... A look in her eye that absolutely breaks my heart to see in a dog. Confused, un educated yet with the sweetest brightest persona waiting to burst out if given the chance. I want someone to take this little girl and make that haunted terrified look go away
