Anyone's dog had one. My lovely foster faren has one on her toe it started off pretty small but has grown and is painful for her now. Lisa and the vet aren't too concerned, we were told to keep an eye on it which we have but now unfortunately she's bothered by it and will lick it. Last night when playing erin managed to stand on faren's foot and catch the hystiocycoma and it started bleeding, so obviously she's even more bothered by it now. She's being spayed (eek) next week and the likelyhood is the hystiocycoma will be taken off as well. But in the mean time any one have any experience of them.

Baxter had one removed from his shoulder that kept growing and bleeding a lot - they took it off and everything came back fine. Just a few stitches and a cone head for a while x Good luck for the spay xxx

My friends dog had two removed over the years as they grew and caused problems but surgery was simple and recovery quick without any further problems .
My lurcher had one ( was diagnosed by needle aspirate ) we were watching and waiting but thankfully it slowly went away and has never come back .
Good luck with the spay and surgery

Hi. Pluto had one a couple of years ago. Lisa spotted straight away what it was. The vet confirmed this and said the best thing to do was leave it unless it changed drastically or started bothering him. I watched him like a hawk and luckily, apart from licking it a couple of times (it seemed itchy) it dried up and disappeared, leaving only a small scar. Hope Faren loses interest in it and it dries up quickly. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Good Luck for next week. Faren's a firm favorite here Janine x

That is exactly how farens one looked and lisa knew what is was from a picture but it's grown and bothers her
It's just on her toe joint too if it was on a shoulder or something out may seem smaller

Maddie had one a few months ago on her leg just above her foot. Vet did a fine needle aspiration which confirmed that was what it was so we left it as they eventually get re absorbed but it grew at a crazy rate over just 2 wks and started to bother her then it split as the skin got so tight and bled so she had it removed. It healed up really quickly, the advantage of having the needle aspiration done was that the vet knew what it was, that it wasn't malignant so didn't have to take a wide margin just in case so he just sort of 'popped it out' stitched it and it wasn't a big deal.
It went from smaller than a pea to a big marble in 2 wks and he showed me the lump after he'd removed it and with the bit you couldn't see it was the size of an acorn - I was shocked how big it was! no wonder it bothered her.

Paddy had one on his back leg, just above the foot, about 4 years ago. As has been said before, the FNA showed it to be benign and basically, putting it bluntly, Paddy gnawed it off! It's never returned.
