We took Walt to France for the first time earlier in November (he loved it - but then, he loves pretty much everything! ). In order to travel back, he has to be wormed at the vet - we used Milbemax. We're going again over the new year, which means that he'll have to be wormed again, only two months after the last time. We plan to use Milbemax again. I'm loath to overdo things, but we have no choice. If we didn't do it, he wouldn't be allowed back into the UK! Can someone just reassure me that this is okay and won't be damaging to Walt?

Intervals of 3 months are maintenance dose - if your dog has worms then you have to give a second dose of wormer 10-14 days after the first. Sometimes when they are first out of kennels worms keep returning so frequent worming is required at first.
So the answer to your question is that an interval of 2 months should be fine. I should say that I use Drontal and I'm not familiar with the wormer you use, but in cases of severe infestation you would have to worm a second time.
Hope this helps a bit - but I'm sure someone else will advise as well. Mine are both greyhounds by the way.

Ailsa you really have to use an awful lot of wormer to overdose and he will be fine. When we get dogs with a worm burden into Gap they will be wormed every 2 weeks to get rid of all the worms and they are fine, 2 doses in 2 months won't do any harm. Worry not.

Thanks very much! I hadn't thought of it that way, but of course it makes perfect sense.
