Right folks its that time of year! People have been asking how they can help the hounds in our care over the Christmas Period. Here at Gap the pooches get spoilt rotten at Christmas. Our WONDERFUL volunteers cook them a FULL Christmas meal which they enjoy on Christmas Eve and the volunteers turn up in droves that day to try to give them extra walks. They are also spoilt rotten with toys and pigs ears and treats and the kennel staff make sure they are given a second helping on Christmas Day morning. We can only make all this happen with the help of our wonderful donators and supporters. There are numerous ways you can help us to spoil them. If you live locally you can buy treats and toys and then bring them over to us, if you live locally and are a business or company and can have a collection point again that is brilliant and we can arrange to collect. For those further afield you are more than welcome to purchase and post directly to the kennels parcels but as the cost of postage can be so high and your money could go further you can donate to us via paypal also. Donating via paypal means we can post here the amount raised and we will then head off to Pets at Home who are brilliant and give us a 20 per cent staff discount meaning yet again the money goes further and further. The paypal account is treasurer@greyhoundgap.com and we just ask that you mark any donations as for the kennel hounds Christmas. If you post here to let us know you have donated OR are sending a parcel we can confirm that it has landed. Last year around £400 was raised via paypal and collection locally were made and the hounds had a wonderful Christmas and New Year with lots of toys and treats to see them through January. Thank you all in advance for anyone who takes the time to contribute and help us make this a very special time xx

I had to search for the wish list as the link took me to my wish list!
Don't forget also that qualifying for Give as You Live on Amazon has changed and you now have to go through the GAYL website to Amazon.

Hello - I am making a donation for the "Christmas for the kennel dogs" collection. My GG dog Finn was sadly put to sleep yesterday and I know the whole family will miss him anyway, but especially over Christmas. So making this donation will help me to think that some of the dogs who have not yet found their forever home yet will be having an extra special time as we would have given Finn. Thank you Sandra x

This thread is on the forum twice, under appeal i.e. this one and also under members. I was puzzled as I could not find my post which is in the members copy of this appeal. As I have sent £25 via BACS for this appeal. Lets hope we can raise lots for those Hounds stuck in kennels over the long holiday period. If I was younger (now 78) and also having my Four Hounds if my bungalow was alot bigger I would offer to have a couple on foster for the Holiday Period. Anyway instead have sent cash via BACS to give some cheer to the Kennel Hounds.
I also see Gap still needs to raise another £44,000 for the kennel fund, if we could get that so as to have our own kennels it would in the long run save Gap lots of money presently spent on keeping Gap's Hounds at other people's kennels.
