Do any of Pip's walkers/cuddlers remember if she used to cough and retch a lot? Whenever she gets excited or has been running around, she has a bout of coughing and retching, that lasts for quiet awhile. I'm hoping it's nothing more than having to build up her fitness as she's been cooped up in the kennels for so long. I've booked her into the vets tomorrow, just for a check up and introduction,so will mention it then. Lungworm symptoms come to mind.

Awwww poor Albert. Hope you're feeling better soon. At least you won't be planning any more escapes whilst you're all snotty.

I would hasten a guess its because she is like a bull in a china shop and going at it like a loon and is not use to lots of free running, its never been a problem in the kennels x I would very much doubt there would be a lung worm risk for her either as she has been safely tucked away and only had on lead walks. Her walks dont go anywhere near anything that would pose a risk either x

Deb, how did Pip go on at the vets ? No problems , I hope? She was a star. Really well behaved apart from not being amused at and telling off the nosey lab that was peering through the examining room glass door. But most importantly, she's fine. The vet thinks that the coughing and retching is just a result of being in kennels for so long and needing to get fighting fit, which we are working on. Already the fits seem to be less frequent and less harsh. They were all amazed that she had been waiting for so long, especially one of the nurses who was brought up with Bull Lurchers. She can't praise them enough. Whenever we went in with Cas,it was touch and go as to whether Cas went home with her or us.
