Hi all
dukes been in kennels for a week whilst I was on my jollidays, however when I collected hin they advised that he had caught to top of his foot jumping up at the kennel. When I looked he had an open wound which I was advised they had been treating with salt water. I got him in the car and called at the vets on the way home. Now to cut a long story short I ended up paying £45+ for a dressing. The vet is always lovely but after discussions with my sister (she has greys too) we were wondering whether anyone who lives in the area or nearby can recommend a vet who has a special interest in greys. There is a large practise in st helens called rutland house ( this is not my vet) however despite the big fella being insured with petplan they won't take a direct payment from the insurers unless its over £500 which is no good to me. Any suggestions ? This is more pressing today as the little beggar escaped past my brother in law today, out of their garden and was away. After what can only be described as a bennyhill like chase which involved a bus driver, drinkers outside a pub, several kids, a man in a jaguar and ultimately a very tired man his royal highness was caught 45 mins later. Whilst I make light of it now how he wasn't seriously injured or killed I have no idea as he crossed several major roads, when I found out I was neigh on hysterical. Just sat here listening to his snoring and thanking my lucky stars. Inside the house and garden I only have to whistle and hes with me but outside I think he goes into sensory overload. We nearly didn't get him as the day before I picked him up he did the off on his foster dad ! He's a monkey !!!!

Crikey, so glad he's home snoozing and none the worse for his escapades (and that you have are having a medicinal drink or two to calm the nerves) We have some members in that area who I'm sure would be able to recommend a vet to you.....if you are after a very quick response you might possibly be better asking on our FB group In the meantime, sending heaps of healing thoughts to your lad
