Rascal is currently in a foster home in the Nottingham area ..... this is what Rascal said about himself!
Hi, my name is Rascal and I am an extremely handsome Greyhound x Staffie. I reckon I am about 2/3 years old so still a youngster.
I love children and adults and am very friendly and will always greet with a kiss and a ‘lean’ for a cuddle…I love my cuddles and lots of fuss so I would like a family who is willing to love me lots!!
I would like a house with a garden for me to bound around and play in, I also like sniffing and hunting round the flowers then lying on the grass, soaking up the sun! Another dog would be great fun. I am fostered with a Greyhound/Collie called Maddie but she is a lot older than me and very grumpy but she does allow me to share the settee and dog beds with her. We go for walks together and we have one thing in common….we both don’t like cats!! I can’t understand why my foster mum won’t let us chase them, even if I cry and pull, she says no. Spoilsport. Maddie doesn’t like meeting other dogs but I love other dogs, especially if they want to play chase on the field. I do play nicely but I am a bit bigger than some dogs so my mum always asks if I can play first. Not too sure about small dogs yet! She is trying to teach me something called manners and keeps talking about ‘dog training’ I think I would like ‘dog training’ so long as there are treats involved and no cats! She won’t let me off the lead yet because I don’t always come back, why should I when it’s more fun to make you chase me? I think this is why I must go ‘dog training’!
I have been left home alone with Maddie a few times but not completely on my own. That is a bit scary at the moment but Mum did leave me in the car all by myself while Maddie went to see the vet and I was good as gold, only howled for a little while then went to sleep. Maddie wasn’t happy but I like my vet, they think I am a handsome boy and give me lots of fuss.
I have chewed some shoes! I’m not proud but I was a bit bored because Mum was out and Maddie wouldn’t play with me but I do have some cuddly toys and bones now that I play with and can chew without getting into trouble.
I go to work with my foster parents and Maddie. It’s great! I get to lie in my bed all day and I meet lots of new people to fuss me. I have lots of admirers, they all think I am gorgeous and they are right. If I really like them back, I give them my special Rascal cuddle.
I have been toilet trained. Apparently it is good manners to ask to go outside to go to the toilet so now I go to the back door and show my foster mum. I get lots of fuss for that.
I can be very lazy, I love my bed and my settee and I’m sure I would love the human beds too if I was allowed to share them.
I love my food and treats! My foster mum is very pleased because I have put on almost 6 kilos and have filled out and my coat looks better too. Have I said how handsome I am???
I have enclosed some photos of me so you can see how handsome I am.
