Very nervous!
We had our previous rescue hound for 10 years and really cant remember what we did to get her started with us.
The little girl we are collecting has been in a home for 8 months was originally an only dog then was part of a pair.
Due to family illness she is currently in kennels
Both the family and kennels believe she will be fine as an only dog
The set up we had previously was bessie had her own room down stairs that at night and when left she this is were she would stay.
I work from home but do have some meetings out occasionally in the day (if this is more than a couple of hours we are having a dog walker come in)
We have a DAP diffuser to put in a couple of days before she arrives.
But yes any tips on settling her in would be gratefully received!!
And if anyone can point me in the direction of getting her a gap house collar Im sure she will love it!

Hi Fiona, I'm certainly no expert in these matters, plus it's been a heck of a long time since I have brought a hound into my home as an only dog , but I think you would be hard pressed to find better advice than Lisa gives in this thread greyhoundgap.proboards.com/thread/29756/new-hound-homeI won't begin to try and improve on the advice given there, but basically try to follow a routine, don't fuss too much, try not to leave for any long period of time initially, and all the very best with your new girl. It would be nice to see some pictures when you've settled her in to her new home.
