I am having similar issues with duke at the moment. He can't tolerate rice or chicken so its white fish and boiled potatoes for him when it starts. I read on line about using a mix of grated apple, slippery elm and colloidal silver. I have ordered all the bits for this but I must admit that I am nervous as its was on a racing greyhound forum so am not 100% certain whether this is used with the dogs best interest in mind or as a quick fix to get them running again. Duke has always been a sensitive lad and the rescue found it hard to find a food he could tolerate and settled him on burgess sensitive but even this is now causing issues. He had a bad tum bowt 6 weeks ago which meant a vets trip and its been intermittent since . I am currently looking for a long term new food if anyone has any ideas - needs to be hypoallergenic no wheat gluten dairy soya etc and not chicken flavour. Hope your grey picks up, you have my sympathy . They must be kindred spirits at the moment xx Bit pricey Lilly's Kitchen Lovely Lamb www.lilyskitchen.co.uk/lovely-lamb?sid=fmisrgkl70kabvv693bhaaomb1or woodland walk www.lilyskitchen.co.uk/wild-woodland-walk?sid=4sqtebvmgb7kd2pe18ukqmqve5How is Layla doing now ? Lily's kitchen food is pricey but it was one if the few foods my Baxter Whippet could tolerate and be absolutely loved it too! It's cheeper to buy from vetuk. Plus it smells so good I used to be tempted myself!!! Lol xxx

I may have spoken too soon. Was woken at 130am to find poo in kitchen and her needing to go out again. I must have slept through an earlier wake up call She then had to go out again at 245am and 400am, but was then settled until 8am Will try to stick with normal food and use this pro-kolin for a few days and see what happens. The poor girls problems just will not go away!

How's Layla doing now? I usually keep mine on the light diet for a few days and then gradually reintroduce the normal food over another few days - probably a week in total. Keep in mind that the diarrhoea will have emptied her bowels, so there won't be much to pass at first, giving the impression that everything's back to normal. Moira x

Layla is improving. We had a quiet night. She has eaten up her normal food well and have just seen her have a poo that looked partially firm. I don't want to get too up about it, as she seems to fall back too easily, but fingers crossed we have finally turned a corner.

Glad she's doing well . I think when they've been as poorly as she has been (like my Sapphy) they are vulnerable to other things for a long time. Sapphy had periodic tummy trouble for a year while she was on immunosuppressants and steroids. Its as if they get so run down everything 'gets' them

Good to hear that Layla is (hopefully) on the right side of whatever upset her I imagine she was on some pretty powerful Abs for her meningitis, so it figures that her gut bacteria is a bit out of whack Moira x
