Anyone feed mixer biscuits to their dogs? I did have Delta on Burns chicken and maize food but she seemed to go off it and is now on Senior/lite naturediet which really suits her tum. Obviously as she's had pancreatitis I want to keep her on a low fat diet and she's doing really well. She is having a bit of burns mixed in with her tea just to use it up and she is eating it but its a very expensive diet if I buy both! I want some decent mixer biscuits to give her some extra calories and wondered if anyone can recommend any. Been looking at this www.berriewoodwholesale.co.uk/det/329/Laughing-Dog-Mixer-Meal-Terrier-Grade-15kg/

Hi is your dog ok with wheat though because its 100 percent wheatflour. Burns do a mixer that's wheatfree but not sure it would be much cheaper than the chicken and maize you are feeding. I have looked for wheatfree mixer and its difficult to find ! I feed burns alert lamb. I would feed mixer and wet food but one of mine is no good with wheat. What about a cheaper low fat kibble to mix in with the naturediet ?

I was going to suggest laughing dog - they do a wheat free one which I have been using to add a bit of variety to the boys raw meals. Snoop doesn't tolerate cereal well but has been fine with a little of this. I buy a small bag but I can't remember how much it was, sorry!

Yes she's fine with wheat, she was ill last year with pancreatitis and has been on a lowfat diet since and is doing really well now but just wanted to add something extra. The others are on Burgess greyhound and lurcher which isn't particularly high in fat (think its 8%) but I would rather give a very lowfat mixer in with her nature diet rather than extra kibble. If Mark knew what I spent on their food he would have a heart attack! Roy is on Wainwrights salmon and potato at almost £40 a sack, the others have naturediet mixed in with their kibble so it does add up.

Trixie used to have pedigree mixer, the small bite one and she loved it. I think the tesco one was ok too but not sure about fat levels.

I feed Burns mixer but since mine only have a handful each a day it does last a long time.

Hiya I was going to suggest either the Laughing Dog Wheat free one - I use as a treat for mine, or Burns' hypo-allergenic Mixer which we buy in 2kg bags from Batleys (both). My friends Leonberger was diagnosed with kidney problems and the vets wanted her to have a prescription diet but she spoke tro Burns and they said dilute the normal Burns complete with this mixer and she'll be fine She's just lost her at 11 years of age ... the vet had never even heard of a Leo that got to 11 so it did the trick. Best if you can use a Batley's card but any shop that buys from them should be able to get it for you ... Nature's Menu have just launched a lovely range of freeze dried foods which mine love tho I'm not sure how high a protein they are. All crossed Julie xx

I live near Oakham and buy it from Pets Corner, they have a few branches but aren't a huge chain so that might not be much help, sorry!
