Just spoke to hospital and she has finished her course of chemo tablets and is now on the steroids. She is apparently still doing some circling but less than she was, and now walks in a straight line. She is also not eating as well as she should but they are hopeful this will improve over the next week or so. The super good news is that I can now visit her later today and bring her home tomorrow I suspect the heartache is not over yet, this just has to have side affects, but it is a huge step in the right direction. Thanks for all the hugs, they have been much needed during this horrible week.

Hopefully the steroids will boost her appetite Hang in there, she may have a lengthy recovery but it sounds like all the signs are good and you will both get there in time

When Milo had his stroke a year ago.. we thought the worse. He was at first seemingly left very disabled but he battled on and over the course of four months he regained nearly all of his mobility. The only effects you see now are some knuckling in one leg when he gets tired. I know its not the same illness.. but it proves how resilient these dogs can be. With your obvious love and devotion she will be in the best of hands to help her overcome any side effects.. just give it time.

I have just been up to see her. She looks so sad, and has that look in her eyes that says it's all my fault Being her typical demonstrative self she pretty much blanked me completely, but I guess I deserve that She is certainly more alert and walks straighter than before, but there is still some circling going on. But worst of all is that she looks sooooo skinny. Have to hope the steroids kick on on her appetite soon. Bringing her home tomorrow so we can start working on that. Onward and upward!

We send you both all our love and best wishes for a good and speedy recovery. I'm sure she will appreciate being back home and will feel better having you there to spoil her. Yay. Layla is home She seemed a little sad and bewildered at first. But has been to toilet, eaten something and is now sleeping. Seems to have a dodgy tummy but hopefully we can overcome that soon. Looking forward to this weekend immensely. Thanks for all the kind words and advice. K
