We have a 9 year old grey who has a thing for drinking coffee but will only take it out of a cup that is left on the floor, anybody else had this and will it cause any harm

My Greyhound Suggs does this too. I try to be very careful with cups of coffee as I'm not sure how harmful it is. I don't know if this is correct but I read somewhere that racers are given coffee to pep them up. Suggs hasn't had any ill effects but it's not something I encourage.

Nell loves my coffee. It's really weak and full of milk. She doesn't have it often. My bridge boy, Sam loved it xx

I am thinking that it is probably not a good idea for dogs to have coffee especially as it is a stimulant!

I would avoid tea and coffee - dogs don't need it. Sorry but I would not be happy with dogs drinking from a human use mug either. Clear boundaries of course delivered with kindness help to prevent confusion for the dog IMO. It could be a mug just used for your dog but if the dog then tried to drink from a guest's mug on the floor
