Max has had a wart on the margin of his eyelid for at least a year. I have been happy to just watch that it doesn't affect his eye. He does have a mucus discharge after sleeping at times but no sign of discomfort and no sign of increase in size. A recent visit to vet for annual injections and check different vet suggested removal by wedge resection. I am loath to interfere as I worry that scarring from surgery could cause much more trouble to the eye. Has anyone else gone down the road of removal and what was your experience.? I Will declare that in in my working life I was an ophthalmologist so dealt with human issues like this and so am very aware of potential complications of surgery.

Not removal by surgery but I used Thuja at 30c to disappear my horses sarcoids -I used Colloidal Silver on one successsfully too but wouldn't use that near eyes (Thuja does warts too .. if like any homeopathic remedy it's what's needed but worse would be it didn't work and it may well just go ) J x

No experience I'm afraid. But if a vet has seen it and it isn't bothering Max I would be inclined to avoid unneccessary surgery.

Trixie had one for years which grew gradually until we were starting to think it needed removing then one day it just fell off, no bleeding, we just all did a double take, couldn't believe it had gone. Never found it either Saved her an op and us money!

My lurcher has this done at the beginning of December. Initially it was cauterised under anesthetic a couple of years ago but it came back. This time it was removed by wedge resection. His is fawn in colour with black eye liner and you cant notice it at all. They sent it off to be safe and it came back as a Meibomian gland adenoma.

Thank you all in helping me be more decisive. I think I will for the moment measure and watch.
