I everyone, sorry am after some more advice please if possible. Brandy seems to of gradually increased the amount of water she is drinking on a daily basis. When we first got her she would drink very little, about half a bowl a day but now just 4 months on she drinks about 3-4 bowls a day. So obviously the amount she wees has increased too and her poo does seem a bit more loose. She seems fine in herself and has one walk a day (she is scared of the dark! And it's work in progress ) but goes into the garden quite happily now after dark which is a huge improvement! However I am just worried could she be drinking too much if that's possible? I know humans have to be careful with drinking too much as it can cause problems. So am I just paranoid or should we be paying Mr Vet a visit? X

I'd definitely get her checked out at the vets, take a urine sample with you at the same time to be checked. How big is the dog bowl? My lot have a large stainless dog bowl full of water and we have 8 here, its only usually filled up once a day, sometimes its empty later on in the day but normally they don't have much more than a big bowl between the lot of them.

I would do the same as Sue, that's definitely an awful lot to drink in one day, unless she is on dry food with no water added to it, even then it's still a bit much. Good luck at the vets

I agree with Sue, it sounds like an awful lot. I've found they tend to drink less as time goes on and they realise water will always be there so don't need to down it in one. Definitely take a sample with you to save another visit with one. Hope all is well.

Just back from the vets, took a wee sample too. The lovely Ian checked her over and no infection etc so he has done bloods and asked me to accurately measure what she drinks. He owns two retired greys himself and said one drinks more than the other bur did agree she seems to be drinking a lot. So I guess it's just a case of measuring what she drinks then seeing what bloods show. He didn't seem too worried though! Ah Brandy I just wish you could talk!! X

That sounds good. Ours all drink different amounts but even with the 4 of them they wouldn't empty a bowl so often. Hope her bloods come back ok

Hope her bloods come back ok, and it's something easily treatable, or maybe diet related It must have cost a fortune if you had an emergency Sunday appointment
