Lump on leg where a cut was healing

Hi everyone,

I hope that it isn't cheeky of me to ask for help when I've not been on here in an age, and I hope you and your hounds are all well.

A couple of months ago Bingo took a bit of a tumble and got a few minor cuts and scrapes on his legs; only one was bad enough to need bandaging but with a bit of time and manuka honey everything seemed healed, except for a smallish graze on his back leg, on the inside of his thigh just above the knee, which stayed a little red and the fur didn't grow back. Over the last week or so this has suddenly grown into quite a large red lump (I can't post any pictures I'm afraid). It doesn't appear to be painful and isn't weeping. Do I need to be concerned/is this vet worthy, do you think? Or is this quite common after minor wounds and something which should sort itself out if I keep it clean/apply manuka/the usual wound management?

Hello Jess and Bingo,

If its not healed after two months I think it would be worth a visit to your vet as there may be some thing under the skin causing the redness and lump.

I would pop to the vet sounds like there may be an infection there,hope it is okay, keep us posted.

I would head for the vets as soon as they are open and operating on normal hours again after Christmas , probably tomorrow? Get it checked out to make sure there's nothing nasty going on, may need antibiotics to help clear up any infection.
