Magnum is under assessment with us here at Greyhound Gap. Well Friday Morning I took a very distressed call from a family locally to me. They had received into their care on Tuesday this week what was described as a Galgo directly from Spain. His Papers said Boxer x and now having met him I would say Podenco cross with possibly Spanish Mastin. He is 12 months old and a large overgrown puppy with no manners. Since landing with them he had repeatedly attempted to grab their cats in a non friendly way and had bitten the adult son twice having been given a toy. High value and something he has never had before so totally understandable especially as it was squeaky and squeaking away like well a small prey animal! Having contacted the rescue they were told tough basically... There is no UK back up so you will either have to re home him yourself OR we MIGHT be able to bring him back to Spain in 6 weeks but no promises. They were besides themselves with worry for the lad and could no longer keep him. He moved to our kennels safely *I* then contacted the Spanish rescue to say surely they must be mistaken and back up is on hand. Their response no there isnt. UNBELIEVABLE! Magnum will NOT be returning to Spain! So meet Magnum.. He is lovely, he has a prey drive, plays like a demon lurcher, no lead manners and is selectively deaf. He will now be bought on then rehomed *RESPONSIBLY*!!! He and our beautiful Ollie hit it off immediately. Again thank god for Gap not shirking other peoples responsibilities or lord knows where he would have landed up

He does everything at 100 miles an hour lol he was actually quite good on lead once hw calms..... That is until the end of the walk when Lisa calked to him from kennels lol Don't think I have ever seen a dog with such zest for life :-)

He is virtually the twin of my lurcher boy from Jim Greenwood's lines, unlikely as that sounds. Lovely boy: let's hope he finds an understanding, sensible home soon.
