Solo, saluki/greyhound who is about 10 now, seems to have developed some sort of intolerance to kibble. After trying various brands without a firm poo in sight he is now on tinned Chappie original and rice.
I need to try and introduce him back to a kibble or something else with more nutrition in than rice.
Any ideas what I could try that might agree with his stomach.
We went to the vets when he was really bad and had a course of Promax and ab's.

Roy and Delta are now on Burns chicken and maize, its made a huge difference to Roy who used to shit for England, he couldn't cope with the burgess greyhound and lurcher so tried him on burgess sensitive, he still did a huge amount. Since changing the burns he is so much better, really solid poo's and a lot less and he never gets us up at night now which he did on a regular basis. It also suits Delta too. Good luck, hope you find something to suit him.

Mine were always ok on Taste of the Wild high prairie , no trouble getting them to eat it at all either. A bit of warm water from the kettle poured on and it makes a very enticing gravy smell There are no grains or cereals in it at all . Very small poos after they had eaten it too. I used to get it from zooplus.co.uk. Where you can accrue points with each purchase etc, and they are also on Give as you live, so you can nominate GAP for the pennies, or Durham animal feeds do a good price if you are in one of their delivery areas. I hope you can find something suitable for Solo and he is feeling better soon

I use Burns Alert lamb, I have a dog that suffers from colitis and she's great on it. However it is quite heavy on rice but it works for my two. Maybe you could try a grain free food, a very good food is Fishmongers from Pets at Home, similar to Fish 4 Dogs but higher in fish content since Fish 4 Dogs changed their recipe. Don't know your budget but Fishmongers is around 33 pounds for 10kgs. The Burns I get for approx 32 for 12kgs. If your boy has a dodgy tummy try mashed potato (no milk or butter!) With some boiled white fish.

Solo sends hugs for his namesake. He has CSJ original, after trying quite a few, and now rarely has an upset tum. He didn't have a really bad problem before, just on and off, but he's been better on CSJ. Plus it's very reasonably priced, and he doesn't turn his fussy Saluki nose up at it!

If he won't eat kibble it may be worth trying him on a better complete wet food such as Naturediet, Nature's Menu or Wainwrights. May even be worth trying him on a raw complete food like Nutriment, Nature's Instinct or Honey's if they don't work.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I have tried Burgess Greyhound & Lurcher, also the sensitive one, they were both a no go. I used to feed Nature Diet all the time but as well as Solos problem, it started to disagree with my older greyhound Alfie, he is now on Wainrights tinned salmon & potato and kibble and is great on it. Never tired CSJ, have heard some good reports about it tho'. Taste of the Wild looks interesting, never considered bison & venison before , very pricey tho' and they don't seem to do a small bag. So I am looking at Burns, the chicken & maize is gluten free which may help, I may order a small bag of this and introduce it really slowly. The good thing is Solo is well and eats anything really so I don't have him turning his nose up at new stuff. I guess as the boys are getting older, these food problems can arise, we'll get there in the end I hope.

Burns gets top marks here. A bit pricey but well worth it.Plus strangely my three boys who were on the err chubby side are now at a good weight on this and Flynn has a waist, yet my girls who were the correct weight have maintained their weight. The biggest bonus poo mountain has reduced by 90%

Maize is a common allergen. Maddie has had food allergy tests and she is allergic to it so if it doesn't suit him it may be the Maize. 3 of ours are on Angell petco salmon and potato, had to change from Fish4Dogs after they changed the ingredients last year and it no longer agreed with Sapphy and Gracie. Maddie likes the Angell trout and chicken food - it actually smells quite nice! Their fishy treats and biscuits are great and they usually have something on offer.
Acana chicken and potato really suits Maddie but she's one that gets fed up of any food after a while so I have to rotate them, fussy madam.

It can be a nightmare can't it, trying to find something that agrees with their stomachs I remember when Solo first arrived, I could feed him anything and he didn't have any problems, Cara is like that now, I don't have to worry what I give her, if a certain kibble hasn't agreed with Solo then I gradually use it up by mixing it in Caras bowl We'll have to wait and see with the Burns, if it doesn't work then at least I've seen that there are other things to try.

We feed burns here as we'll , nice firm poos and it agrees with both Obie and Dulcie (except when Obie decided to help himself to a whole packet of ginger biscuits ) his tummy was a bit upset
