Hi I've been reading that Kongs are quite good for dogs, has anyone used them? What do people think? I've got a 26kg greyhound and am wondering what size is best? Xx

I got a huge one for Moose but the hole was so big he got his bottom jaw stuck in it! Scary few minutes with him screaming, and me..well..screaming Got him a smaller one, but he got so upset at not being able to get at the food that I emptied it for him God, I am so pathetic!

Lol I'd be like that! Some say they are great some don't like them! I'm just unsure what size to get

Maple has one, but it's Pets at Home's own version (cheaper) and seems just as good as the Kong make, although a slightly different shape. I've one of those too but only cos we rediscovered in the garden where our old GSDx had buried it!
I fill it with cheese, bits of her food, dog treats, ham, chicken - basically anything I think she'll like. She's got more adept at emptying it though!

Thanks everyone - just been to pets at home and got her one. Was really fortunate too as because we are VIP members (it's free to join!) we got a £2 off voucher I filled it with pate and dog biscuits - empty within 10 mins! She is now bouncing it on the floor wondering why nothing's coming out! Gotta love my baby girl we were also out for almost 2 hours and no problems xxx

Try layers of hard cheese in there too and really pack it in - it'll last longer, hopefully. I use 'lighter' low fat cheese.

Don't be afraid to pop it in the microwave to melt the cheese and also freeze it too.
My usual staples are cheap cheese, peanut butter, dog treats and biscuits, cream cheese, cocktail sausages, in fact anything that can be squashed in!

Nancy can't be bothered with them - in true lazy greyhound style she gives hers to Layton to work on - and follows behind him picking up all the crumbs that fall out.
As a company though I really like their customer service - we had one split on us (must have been a dud batch) and I wrote to complain - and the dogs got a replacement and a huge box of goodies (addressed to them which made me giggle) in the post!

Wow that is good customer service, we are on number 2 already as she has destroyed the first one. So I may do the same!

Both of ours love them and it's fair to say, have got much more adept at getting the food out over time. Paddy is an ardent fan, getting to work to get every single scrap out of his and then Tracy's when she can't be bothered anymore They provide good mental stimulation too. Kong Wobble is another good version.
