Hi
Molly has been not right for about a week - very lethargic and not eating much and panting quite a bit. Took her to the vet yesterday and they said she has an upper respiratory tract infect and a chest infection. She gave her an anti inflammatory jab and put her on antibiotics and metacam. She brightened up quickly yesterday but then this morning didnt get out of bed until 11.40 and is not herself. She hasn't coughed or seemed to be breathing noisily and I wondered if this was normal in a dog with a chest infection? I am worried it something else but perhaps I should be more trusting of the vet. Any thoughts?
Jane

No experience of chest infections but if you don't feel happy about Molly and how she is, you could ring the vet and explain, asking is this normal considering she's had a jab and is now on meds. Hope Molly soon feels much better

Have she been walking in woods? Check out Seasonal Canine Illness ... or X-rays?

Plenty of healing and if you're not happy, always go back to the vets

I thought that about SCI but she hasn't been in any woods. She is going back to the vets again tomorrow morning as she is hot again today and won't get up to greet people. Am very concerned as she seems so unlike her usual self. I have the fan on her to try and keep her cool and she has had metacam. Husband is also fretting a bit!!
