Lol. Great reply! Layla is doing a stand up job of solving your separation anxiety by ignoring you when you first arrive back:-)

Am away again this week and Layla is staying with brothers family this time. Missing her loads already Feel a bond is growing between us more now, so will be interesting to see what reaction I get on my return. Expecting to be ignored as usual, but one can hope for some excitement

My lurcher used to be off his food if we went away, not anymore, if anything he always looks quite a bit chunkier after a few days with Nanna. She calls him her 'granddog' as opposed to grandson!

Yes realistic and we have lived with a breed that treat us with the contempt they feel we deserve for years.

If she doesn't change by Friday I assume it is too late to give her back Only kidding! You'd have to prize her from my cold dead hands

Well, I am home now, and as predicted by you horrors there was no excited welcome, but she didn't blank me or sulk. She spent some time with me to make sure she got the required amount of attention that a week away called for. I call that progress! Got her home and she slipped back into normal routine immediately, ie nicking my seat on the sofa Been horrible weather so far today so we spent more cuddle time in bed. Will have to take her out soon, and she will hate me with this weather. Yuk, best describes it

Layla....... fell off the bed! I was lying there facing other way when I heard a crash. Turned round to see her legs flailing and the mirrored wardrobe doors wobbling. Sorry, she was fine, but I had to laugh

Short update on madam. After seeing Lisa's call for help with bedding, toys and treats, i thought I'd gather all Layla's unwanted & unused items, including the bed I bought her which she has never even looked at, let alone stepped, sat or slept on. Saturday morning comes and I strip the cover off her bed and left the quilt part on the floor. Thought cover would be handy at some point so was going to keep that. Spent 20 mins gathering all the rest of her bits only to turn around and find her fast asleep on the quilt! Bloomin' typical that Sorry Lisa, and the kennel hounds, Layla decided she needed the bed after all!

Layla decided to redecorate! Came down on Saturday morning to find an A4 sized patch of wallpaper missing! Then started finding pieces of it strewn across lounge floor. On closer inspection she has not just removed the wallpaper but gnawed into the plaster below! It was right where her head lies when she sleeps at one end of the sofa. I caught her licking that same piece a week earlier, stopped her doing it and thought no more of it. I can only assume that at some point I have splashed it with something tasty! Obviously too tasty for her to ignore Sofa has now been repositioned to stop more midnight feasts of the house Though, how I am going to explain this to the landlord is another matter
