A few days to cover, so bit of a long update, sorreeeeee
Friday was a "stairs" day.
Layla has now decided that when I am working upstairs, she should be with me too. So she spent most of the day going up and downstairs and when she got too tired to do that, crashing out on my bed. Don't tell work but about 1530 I went and lay next to her on the bed and read for half hour whilst she slept. Bliss
Friday evening we did something new, we went in the car to visit my bother and his family. It's first time she has been in the car since I took her home from kennels. I cannot tell if she just doesn't like the car or is confused by it, but she will not get into it under her own steam. I have to lift her up and plonk her on back seat. OK, car is not the most dog friendly, it's just a basic 4 door saloon, so maybe it is that which causes the reluctance. May give some consideration to getting a more dog friendly motor in future. Strangely though, after about 5 mins she settles down and goes to sleep, or at least lays down quietly. I'll settle for that
Going to my brothers was a trial run, as we wanted to see if she would settle in the new environment. My brother will be looking after her when I have to travel for work, so it is important she is going to be OK. Glad to report that she settled in nicely after being spoiled rotten by the family. Which was good news, as I took her there again the following day whilst I went to kennels to help do the Saturday walk.
I got back to find her zonked out in their lounge. They told me she had been very good and had an exciting day as they had found an enclosed field and let her off the lead so she could do some zoomies. Might take her back to said field myself next week to see her in action
It all resulted in her not wanting to do a lot last night, so short walk, early dinner, and she was spark out for rest of evening and night. Until at 637 am precisely I was awoken to some whining, which indicates that she needs to go toilet. Got to say I am happy with that. At least I know how she will tell me.
Today has been my favourite day so far, as it is our lazy day. OK had to get up early to let her out but then we both went back to bed until 845 when I fed her, then both back to bed again until 1030 when it was walk time
She is now enjoying a treat in the garden whilst I get some laptop time. We seem to be fitting together nicely
