Scout is having more tests next week, but may have Megaesophagus. The vet did an xray today and wants to do a barium meal procedure on Monday to check the diagnosis. Am I right in remembering that Lisa's Scarlett was born with this condition? I just wondered if she or anyone have any words of advice/encouragement for us? Scout is about 7 (we don't know for sure since he's a rescue hound), so it's late onset rather than early. He's been doing a lot of regurgitating of his food and over this last weekend developed a fever and was quite poorly. Vet has ruled out pneumonia (which is a complication of Megaesophagus) and his temp has come down to normal again. He also has some trapped gas in his tummy that they were unable to release today.. so any info/advice/help anyone can give re this condition would be really helpful; thanks for reading x

I've come across a few dogs with this condition at the kennels where I work. It isn't curable but it can be managed. Obviously how well it's managed varies from dog to dog. Lots of good thoughts for poor Scout Helen x
