We've had Bria two weeks now. We've been following the housetraining rules as recommended, and taking her out to our yard regularly for her to go. But for some reason she's started weeing in the house immediately after eating her food. It's happened 4 times this week.
For example, I took her out this morning at 8am and she had a wee and a poo, so she got a treat and lots of praise. She bedded back down when inside and once we were ready we gave her breakfast at 9:30. Her food went straight down and within a minute of finishing she had a wee in the hall. It wasn't up against anything so I'm pretty sure she wasn't marking her territory.
It's not just restricted to breakfast; earlier this week I took her out immediately before her tea; she didn't do anything and wanted to come straight back in. I tried with her for about 5 minutes (not very long I admit) and she came straight back in and had her tea. Again, within a minute of finishing she wee'd in the hall.

It's possible she may have a urine infection which can be sorted with some tablets from the vets. Alternatively it could be part of the settling in stage which is what I had with my current foster dog, she would only wee in the house to start with, then did a combination of house and garden and after about 5 weeks she was completely clean in the house. I would put Bria straight out in the garden after her food, as soon as she's finished, and with warmer weather coming it'll be easier to turf her out for a bit, lots of praise again when she goes. If that's the pattern she wants to follow as she's settling, then it will actually be easier in the long run as it'll be food and toilet and then you can put your feet up undisturbed for a few hours the hard part is catching her actually doing it inside, normally it's discovered by a lone puddle later but if you can catch her a firm verbal no and then out to the garden. It can sometimes take a few weeks to get it spot on but working out her bowel and bladder patterns and then build a routine, they love routine Hope that helps, I'm sure others with similar experiences will be along with their ideas too Sarah x

Both mine do this - male lurcher and female whippet - and I just send them out into the garden straight after meals. If you rule out an infection first, it might just be due to the pressure of a full tummy on her bladder.

Even if my two had a good walk before, they always want to go outside once dinner bowls are empty.

When Emma my bridge girl first arrived she would wee immediately after eating and she was a fast eater so I really had to be on the ball. After a few times of getting her straight outside and praising her when she went, she learned to hang on 'til I let her out, never had any more problems. It could just be a getting to know the routine thing.

Same as Jacqui here with two of our greyhounds, Winston and Katy. They were both perfectly clean from when they first arrived but both urinated immediately after eating so it was just a matter of letting them straight out into the garden the second they finished their food, I got the feeling it was an anxiety thing, we still let them out to the garden now but neither of them are quite so urgent about going out.

Same with Daisy, as a matter of course I just pop her out for a wee or poo straight after eating. Her bowl is right by the back door so its easy to just pop her straight out!

Same here too! If Ernie doesn't go straight out after eating he'll look for somewhere to have a crafty wee! I'd probably feed her when she gets up and then let her out to do everything and then as somebody else said you should get a few hours peace and quiet after that. Our two won't entertain going out before breakfast but once they've eaten and done their business they're happy as larry and sleep the rest of the morning.

In good weather I feed 3 of our 4 outside, saves the putting them out bit!

I think this is common with many dogs from racing kennels. They are let from their kennels out into runs immediately after being fed and empty there. Some take a while to lose the habit, some never do. It may be the pressure of a full tummy making her need to go but now you know she does, it will be easy just to let her out as soon as she finishes eating anyway.

my male grey does this , even if he has been out for a walk before dinner , easy answer he goes out straight after each meal and there is no problem , so perhaps do this to your grey and see how it goes , remember these are greyhound brains we are talking about here they are not the same as other dogs

Our Lucy (greyhound) often needs to go straight out for toilet after eating (especially if it's after her breakfast or something she really enjoys such as her sardines/pilchards). We just got into the habit of letting her out after eating and things are generally fine now. J
