Ive noticed Shaun gets a bit constipated from time to time and I am wondering what might help I feed a dry complete maintence that is our local pet food shops own brand the dogs look well on it coats shine and their poo is firm but Im wondering if its not quite right for him any ideas

Oh the poor lad Two things spring to mind, fibre-wise, that could be added as supplements to help create a natural 'road': You could try adding some green beans to his diet (frozen ones are handy, cheap, plentiful and low-calorie) . And / or oatbran is a great fibre source, too . Wheatbran is just as good but some hounds tolerate it less well than the oaty version. Jo x

I use bran (the rough stuff; not All Bran which is too refined) for any dog who's constipated or the other way. Mine happily lap it up mixed with a little milk, if they are on kibble rather than tinned with biscuit.
Healthfood shops in markets are cheaper than dedicated health shops.
