I am so sorry to hear about Mace. I lost a dog to this disease many years ago so understand the trauma you are going through. Treatment back then was very basic and not much was offered, today, there is more that can be done to buy time. I know of others who have used chemo and their dogs have tolerated it very well. I hope the same happens for Mace. Let us know how he does and give him some hugs from us.

So sorry to hear about Mace Sherbert had a mast cell tumour removed, he had chemo as they weren't sure they'd removed all of the cancerous cells (due to size and location) Sherbert had a bad reaction to the chemo, haemorrhagic cystitis, which is very rare but we had been warned about it as he had previously had bladder problems. Anyway 10 years on he's still here and fitting fit Good luck and lots of love to both you and Mace

Sending healing thoughts It depends on the protocol your vets are using, but I found it helpful to have a calendar just for dog chemo - there was a complicated schedule of drugs. Plus you're likely to experience the joys of chasing a dog round the garden with a bowl to catch wee in - I think that traumatised Herbs more than the chemo! If you're into reading, I can recommend "Help Your Dog Fight Cancer" by Laurie Kaplan, whose dog had lymphoma. And for what it's worth, five years on I still have a non-cured but non-dead dog with lymphoma.
