Unfortunately our poor beautiful tripod Mace has just been diagnosed with fast growing Lymphoma. 1st chemo session is booked for Monday.
Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated. x

I am so sorry to hear the news about Mace  ,and, I know how devastated you must be feeling right now. One of my dogs was diagnosed some years back with lymphoma,and, like you ,we went down the route of chemo too. Sadly she did lose the fight some 16 months later , but, during this time her quality of life was amazing,and, she coped with the chemo really well, without any real side affects too. I would never hesitate to go down this route again if I ever had too,as, there are success stories out there with this type of cancer, my own vets have 2 of there own,and the treatment is so well tolerated too. One thing I know, is that on one of the drugs given, they need to drink plenty of fluids for a short while after,and, my little girl was not the best for drinking. For some unknown reason, i didnt click that any fluids would do, ie:- milk in water, tea etc, ( I must of had a mental block)and, so struggled with her over that,so, if Mace is put on the same drug, then , any fluids will do  . I will so keep Mace in my prayers at this time, and, my on going prayer, is that he will cope with the chemo really well, and, that he will become an true overcomer in this area too Carol x |

Dizzy did well with chemo for osteo. A bit lethargic and off food for a couple of days after each session. So far she's had 17 months since hercancer was diagnoised. Just from one tipod owner to another thinking of you and hoping the chemo does what its supposed to

so very sorry to hear about Mace My Jimmy was diagnosed with aggressive lymphoma and I went down the chemo route. He tolerated it well and was a very happy and energetic boy for 10 months. He found the last month difficult as his immune system couldn't cope with infections any longer and I stopped the chemo and let him go about two weeks later. I never regretted giving him chemo but wouldn't say that I would definitely do it again as I think each dog and every circumstance is different. My thoughts are with you and Mace |

Im so sorry to read this I have no experience of this, but i will keep you and Mace in my thoughts on Monday and i hope and pray the treatment is successful and he tolerates it well Diane xxx |

Buster also tolerated chemo very well (for osteo). I also used holistic remedies alongside conventional ones (homeopathy and herbal treatments). I dont regret putting Buster through the chemo. Bestest wishes for Mace. |

Oh Lisa, I'm so gutted for you and Mace I'm sorry I don't have any advice as I don't have experience of having a dog going through Chemo. Sending our love and best wishes to Mace and you too. I'll be thinking of you both on Monday. Fran x |

Lisa I'm so sorry to hear about Mace  Dickie had chemo for osteosarcoma and pretty much sailed through it he had a different chemo regime to Gillian's Dizzy, but like her he would be off his food for a couple of days but otherwise no side effects. Dickie is living each day to the full and it's now a year since the first symptoms of osteo and he is 7 months post op  I recall vividly when Mace had his accident and lost his leg, he was an inspiration to us when Dickie had his leg amputated, as with so many of the brave tripods we know here on Gap Will be keeping you and Mace in my thoughts |
