Have noticed that there are a number of farmers markets around the country and was wondering if anyone had approached the various organisers about having a free stall or just some volunteers and hounds collecting? Just a thought

Hiya Hun, I'm never sure whether farmers' markets would be a good idea with hounds: Certainly I'd be so preoccupied with mine trying to stop 'em nicking the cheese samples that I'd have no free hands to rattle my tin! ;D ;D ;D That's the one time you'd see Barney wide awake! ;D ;D ;D ;D But seriously . . . There are opportunities everywhere you look, which is absolutely wonderful: Garden centres, shopping centres, markets, festivals, fetes . . . but sadly it's the bodies with free time that we sometimes lack . Bear in mind too that market grounds are generally council-owned so a street collection license might well be needed for a straightforward collection, though I imagine running a stall would be different. Gappers are wonderful: They do what they can when they can, and we try to facilitate fundraisers in any way that we can whilst respecting the fact that life is hectic these days and people do need 'down' time. It's a fine balance, but if anyone would like to exploit local opportunities we'll support them and help equip them as best we can Jo x
