As of the 1st Jan 2012 regulations are as follows: 1. Microchip 2. Rabies vaccination at least 21 days before departure (in the UK most rabies vaccinations now need boostering every 3 years). 3. EC Pet Passport issued by a vet Returning to the UK: 24 - 120 hours before arrival in the UK, tapeworm treatment with any drug containing praziquante applied by a vet and passport completed, signed and stamped under the worming section. www.defra.gov.uk/wildlife-pets/pets/travel/pets/pet-owners/#aThere are a few European countries that have different rules and if you are unsure check with their embassies however most European countries such as France and Spain have the above regulations. It is wise to research the area you are visiting to see what preventative measures may be necessary for local possible diseases such as tick borne disease.
