Hi everyone, My accident prone Jack at the same time as getting a wasp sting, also sprained his foot. I took him to the vet who pulled and twisted his leg to check it and worked out it was something in the foot (below the ankle). He is limping but not in pain when touched. The vet suggested it was possibly a ligament or a sprain. Is there anything I can do to make him rest it? Can it be strapped up? I'm walking him on the lead, but putting pressure on it even while walking is giving him pain. Any advice gratefully received. Fizle

To be honest I think total rest is the way to go and in this heat I wouldnt have thought he would mind. Has the vet given you any pain relief for him?

My Lucy often sprains her toes .. I do the total rest plus Arnica and Rhus Tox both homeopathic at 30c twice a day and then on lead for at least another two weeks oh and I cut her nail if there's enough so that the nail's not pressing on the floor to take all pressure off the toe ..

Thanks for advice. Will look at what remedies I have and also look at his nail. Total rest? Lurcher? He's now rebelling by not going into the garden so really really slow short walks.
