A neighbour has asked advice about her GSD dog who has had recurring skin problems. They are mainly on paws armpits and underbelly areas. She invited me in to have a look. I am afraid I was only able to have a cursory look at Poppies paws as she is very shy of strangers,,,,doesn't get out much. It looked like dry excematous changes. It varies a lot Unfortunately they have lost insurance as they have claimed so much for local Mr vet. Currently vets advice is grass/pollen allergy, scrapes apparently negative. hence Poppy not exercised out of their largish garden much? I have offered to walk with her in the past. Garden is paved and flooring downstairs is wood or tiling. Currently she is fed Hills Science diet and is on topical and oral steroids Yumega oil. the rest of her coat looks in good condition and she looks a good weight. I have suggested a visit to a different vet( some of my dog walking mates use). sudo creme or Bob Grass ointment( gleaned from Lurcherlass). printed off a bit on harvest mites. They clearly love their girl and I would like to help any suggestions?

Another Bob Grass Skincure ointment fan here, Rio and Angus get grass allergy patches and the Bob Grass sorts it out very quickly. Its only about £6 a pot and lasts for ages.

My grey was very itchy and had red patches on her tum until I changed her food to Burns Pork & Potato, thereby getting rid of wheat and rice from her diet. Have they considered diet as a cause?
