I know you super clever lot have talked about this and Manuka honey. How and what do you use them for? My dog sitters dogs have had a bit of a row and Dylan(lurcher) has a nasty sore on his side. He licks it constantly and he wont keep on a buster collar. I have lent them a muzzle to try so hope it will work. Wound is sore with the licking and wondered if either of the above would be of benefit.

If its a bite he might needs ab's as they can get easily infected. If its on his side I'd put a teeshirt on him to stop him licking, its always worked for mine. Arnica's for bruising so if it is bruised definitely give it to him. Manuka honey is fab and can also be given to him orally to help him heal. Unless you could put a dressing on he may be more tempted to lick it if its got honey on

You can also get a liquid called 'No Lick' from the vet, it tastes foul apparently (haven't tried it myself) and can be applied immediately around the area to deter the dog from licking the wound whilst it heals.

My vet prescibed Arnica after Tig had an op ... the potency was 30c and she had to have 3 x tabs twice a day .. give it more than 15 minutes before or after food at least and tip the pillules into the lid and then down her throat so you don't touch it (your hand's heat affects it ) I had to give it for about 2 weeks I think J xx
